I am listing this car for my grandfather. He bought the car in 1982 from the original owner, to this day he's put about 4000 miles on it since he bought it.

This was a nice rust free car to start out with, but in 1999 he decided to do a full restoration, If I remember correctly, there was about 50 or 60 grand spent on the restoration, I'm actually afraid to ask again.  Everything was gone through including the engine and drivetrain. anything that needed replaced was, including a bunch of parts that didn't need replacing. In addition there was a custom brake booster installed to get rid of the problematic factory booster, the new setup works wonderfully, and only a purest could tell by looking that its not factory. the original brake components are included with the car.
The exhaust system is all new stainless steel from XK,s The exaust is the earlier version with the four tips instead of two, grandpa liked the look better.
The paint is obviously not a factory color, it is a color change paint that cost 2500 a gallon in 1999, this is a multicolor color change paint, not just a 2 or 3 color paint that is cheaper and more common. Its really pretty impressive.
The only thing that wasn't replaced were the tires, I don't know why they were not replaced other than he liked them and they are still in good condition.
As I said the car was restored in 1999, it hasn't spent a night outside since then, in fact I dont think there are enough miles on it to properly break in the engine.
The car has been sitting but it gets driven at least a couple times a year, usually only around the block, but thats enough to keep everything lubed and working.
The car needs to be cleaned, mainly its just dusty from sitting in the shop, it would be back to show condition with a good detailing and wax job.
There are only 2 things that I can think of that need repair. The tachometer stopped working for some reason, the tach itself may need repair, or it could be a bad connection, I would assume the worst. also the weatherstrip on the drivers door got pinched in the door at some time, its taken on the pinched shape and may need to be replaced.
I don't think there's anything else that needs attention. If you are serious about the car, I can put you in touch with the owner, he can do give you a history of the car. I can also give you any info you need, if I don't know the info you need, I will get it for you.
This car was originally blue, there is a pre restoration picture included with the other pictures. Some of the pictures were taken just after the Restoration, others are current. One picture is a group of photos that were taken during the restoration. let me know if you have any question's about the pictures.

Overall this is a nice car, I'm sure its still in better condition and more reliable than a new one would have been.

Please feel free to ask any questions. If you want to look at the car, its located in Vancouver Washington, just contact me, I will arrange an appointment.

As far as payment goes, a small 300.00 down payment through PayPal will be required to make sure your serious, or something along those lines as discussed with the owner.
A wire transfer or something comparable for the balance will be due before the car leaves. again payment methods can be discussed with the owner.

If you need shipping, I can usually arrange shipping for 1.00 a loaded mile up to 1200 miles, that would get it to southern California or Arizona. beyond much more than 1200 miles you would have to arrange for your own transportation.

I hope I didn't miss anything, Feel free to ask as many questions as you want.

Jaguar C-X17 rides high into Frankfurt

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

After enviously watching its competitors rake in piles of crossover-shaped dollars for years, Jaguar is poised to get into the game with a production model based on this C-X17 concept. While the British brand hasn't officially confirmed it will sell a utility vehicle - indeed, brand fans and industry watchers have wondered whether the Leaping Cat even need to get into the game considering its corporate cousins at Land Rover - we would be dumbfounded if it didn't happen in short order.
We've always been concerned that Jaguar's styling language wouldn't translate well to a high-riding shape, but here at its Frankfurt Motor Show debut, the C-X17 comes off as quite handsome (if predictable) in the metal. The same couldn't always be said of Jag's styling DNA, but newer models beginning with the XF and the XJ have introduced design elements like a larger, more vertical grille that suit the C-X17's form factor exceedingly well. Even the rear end successfully borrows its taillamp design from the glorious new F-Type Roadster.
Underneath the concept's two-box shape is a new aluminum unibody that Jag says it is poised to employ on its next-generation models, including the long-expected midsize sedan coming to North America in 2016. Jaguar has long been a leader in aluminum chassis development even as it has struggled to take weight out of some of its vehicles (the F-Type, for instance, isn't exactly lightweight). Thus far, Jaguar isn't talking powertrains other than to say it will employ a new generation of gas and diesel engines.

Has the Jaguar XKR-S Sportbrake leaked out early?

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

Want to haul ass down the Autobahn with the whole family and all their gear in tow? Forget that Porsche Cayenne or Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 - what you'll want is a power wagon: something like an Audi RS6 Avant or Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Estate. Unfortunately there are precious few of these performance station wagons on the market anywhere, especially with American offerings like the Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon on its way out and the Dodge Magnum SRT8 long gone. But there's a new challenger emerging.
That'd be the Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake, a hi-po estate from Coventry that's been a long time in the making. And now it's apparently almost here. (Only by "here," we mean "there," as it's not likely ever to come to the United States.)
Apparently set to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show is a Frankenstein-style cross between a Jaguar XF Sportbrake and XFR-S performance sedan, taking the best elements from both. From the former, that means the extended roofline that gives it the cargo capacity of a small crossover. From the former, that means a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 producing 542 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque, driving the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Jaguar XE bares its claws in 74 images [w/video]

Wed, 01 Oct 2014

The XE may prove to be the most vital new model to Jaguar's expansion. But to date we've only really seen it in top-spec, supercharged XE S form. That ends right here and now, however, as Jaguar releases details, photos and even a brief video clip showing the entire range - including those most customers are bound to buy.
Globally speaking - or at least in its home market - Jaguar will offer the XE with five different engines and in four different trim levels. The new Ingenium engine family includes two diesels and two turbocharged gasoline options along with the top-of-the-line supercharged V6 that will serve as the XE's performance flagship model, at least until a new SVR version comes along. Both six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmissions are on offer, and overseas buyers will also be able to choose between base SE, mid-range Prestige, opulent Portfolio, dynamic R-Sport and range-topping S trim levels.
Of course not every engine is available in each trim level and with either transmission, so instead of 40 combinations we're looking at 22. Once the XE reaches American showrooms, we'll likely be looking at even fewer, as we're not expecting the manual and diesel versions to be offered Stateside. Stay tuned as well for our live impressions from the floor of the Paris Motor Show. But in the meantime you can scope out all the details and UK specifications in the press release below, along with the short video and the gallery of 74 high-resolution images above.
