Very nice 70 Rally Sport that I bought 7 years ago. I updated the car because I had no plans to ever sell it but bought an 1865 Mansion which I am restoring and need to sell a few of my cars. This car was originally white but I thought this color was much nicer. The paint job is somewhat subpar I believe, and I have not taken it back to be buffed out but it a nice driver.
Has the following;
- rebuilt engine about 4 years ago. runs very very well.
- replaced transmission seals, new shifter cable, and bracket.
- replaced gas tank and sending unit (hose at top of tank leaks when more than half full)
- rebuilt carb.
- new tires and wheels (buyer can have the factory powder coated mags instead)
- electronic ignition.
- XM radio.
- new exhaust but mufflers are louder than factory unit.
- R134 Freon changeover and some components replaced last year. A/C works.
- new weather stripping.
- vinyl top replaced over solid roof.
- new rubber nose
Issues;
- There was a rust hole on the drivers floor which was patched by the previous owner. I believe he replaced the trunk pan too.
- The current tires I bought 6 years ago are a little big and fronts rub sometimes when parking.
- Wiper arms are not correct for this vehicle and should be replaced.
- Temperature switch is faulty and blinks at times. I have a new one though.
- There is a clunk sound when I go over railroad tracks since I've had this car which I have not for the life of me been able to figure out what it is.
- Fabric is worn (not torn) at the top of the rear seats. The interior is otherwise very nice.
- There is a chip in the paint (see photo) and some very small silver droplets below the grill which I have no idea where they are from.
This really is a very nice vehicle. It certainly turns heads everywhere. My family is having a fit because I'm selling it but I have to be reasonable about my priorities and finishing off the new house.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray order guide hits the web
Mon, 15 Apr 2013The official debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is only part of the excitement for fans of Chevy's virtuoso sportscar. Although we got to see the car and some of its preliminary specs in Detroit and Geneva, there is still no word on pricing and some of the juicier data points we've been waiting for - such as confirmed power output, EPA estimated mileage figures and performance numbers. Until then, CorvetteBlogger has gotten its hands on the order guide for the coupe version of the car - in both base and Z51 iterations - revealing tidbits like standard and optional features and available color combinations.
Some other new details made it onto the order guide, such as our first interior specs for the coupe including slightly less hip room and headroom, more shoulder room and the same amount of legroom. To see the full order guide, head on over to CorvetteBlogger. From what we can gather, it sounds like more information will be revealed on April 25 during a party at the Corvette Museum, and for those sun worshipers patiently waiting for a convertible, it would appear you've got another model year to wait through.
Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
